Our Team

Miss Erika

Founder/Director & Little Scouts Lead Teacher

Miss Erika is a credentialed K-8 teacher and early childhood educator with over 20 years experience teaching Preschool-2nd grade. She created this program when she saw a need in the community to provide a holistic, outdoor learning environment for children. She is so excited to have her eight year old daughter alongside her as a part of her homeschooling journey. She believes that learning occurs organically through children’s discoveries, passions and innate curiosities. She wants to instill a love of learning and create a community of like-minded families who share similar values.

Miss Cindy

Junior Scouts Assistant Teacher

Miss Cindy is an Oklahoma girl with a California heart! She brings a wide range of talents and experiences to our teaching team. She has her BA in Elementary Education and Psychology. After receiving her teaching credential she taught Pre-K and Special Education. Most recently she worked as a Director/Teacher in an enrichment program for homeschool children. She has a great passion for working with children and loves how they think. She says she is not here to teach them, but to hold space for them, validate and listen to their stories. They teach her just as much as she teaches them.

Miss Jenny

Junior Scouts Lead Teacher

Miss Jenny has a degree in textile arts. She has studied various cultures in the arts, such as cloth, folklore, and dance, so creativity is a focus in her class. She loves to incorporate art, music and nature journaling into her teachings and has a passion for learning in nature. Just out of high school she joined a wilderness survival group and loved living in the deserts and mountains of Arizona for 3 months. Since having her two girls she has cultivated a wide range of experience teaching STEAM, art history, life skills, tinkering and building, and nature classes to all ages. Teaching alongside her daughters has been one of her biggest joys as a mom and she’s so grateful for the opportunity to join the Junior Scouts team with her older daughter by her side.
